Looking for a first bike?

Need some suggestions?

Well I'm certainly glad you asked!

I don't know everything about this but I do know a few things,
and here they are:

  1. Never buy a red bike. Never EVER buy a used
    red bike.

  2. Since the bike must carry you for tens of thousands of
miles horsepower is a prime consideration
    . To determine the
necessary horsepower go stand on your bathroom scales and look
at the small window on top of it. A number will appear there,
multiply it by at least 10. Write this number down and take it
to your dealer. Tell your dealer that you need a bike with this
    many horsepower.

  3. It's very important that you be comfortable on the bike
or you will probably crash it
. So go to your dealer and sit
on every bike in the showroom. You don't want to buy one yet,
just try them on, so if you are approached by a salesman ask if
    he has any spare change.

  4. Beware of gimmicks like turbochargers and fuel injection.

These exotic devices are needlessly complex and expensive and
make maintaining your bike much harder. Only foolish squids buy
    such things.

  5. If the bike is blue or older than 3 years its probably
underpowered and in need of modifications.
    Get a turbocharger
right away. Also, consider fuel injection, as this would also
    help.

  6. As many people will tell you bikes are invisible to all
cars that are not black and white, so visibility is very
    important.

To be sure other motorists can see you get a bike in a color that
is easy to see... like red.

I love my used red(candy red) bike....glad i didnt read this first.....it was the blue and siver one that wasn't so good.  Mike
