Recommended safety gear
The following gear is considered ESSENTIAL on any FBR ride.
- Full Face Helmet
- Helmet is less than 5 years old and has no crash or drop damage
- Over-the-calf leather boots.
- The boots don't have to be motorcycle racing boots, but they should cover the calf and provide stability to the foot and ankle.
- If the boots use shoelaces, laces should be tucked in to prevent snagging bike parts.
- Motorcycle-Specific Jacket
- Can be Cordura or Leather-based
- Should include armor plating in the shoulders, elbows and forearms
- A kidney and/or back protector is also recommended
- Motorcycle-Specific Pants
- Can be Cordura or Leather-based
- Should include armor plating in the knees and hips
- A plus if they attach to the jacket
- Gloves
- Leather-made
- Coverate over the wrist.
- A plus if they are stitched with kevlar, have a studded palm, and/or have armor plating on the back-side of the hand.
- Should include a tie at the wrist to secure the glove.
- Motorcycle Communicator
- For bike-to-bike communication --> We use the Chatterbox brand or compatible system.
- To the above a rider should add comfort gear, such as a thermal liner or heated vest in cooler months, rain gear, earplugs, etc.
