Floribama Riders

We are trying to wrap our collective heads around the news that Nascar is gonna "run" our US based professional racing series.. here is a response of mine to a club member regarding the two sports.

Two different worlds, Big Dawg..... the yellow allows the teams to tweak the car, change tires, and given fuel mileage, you either have the choice to stay out an run out, or, come in and work your way back to the front with new tires and a full tank. "I WAS first, now I am eight, but, my car is better than yours, and I have a bigger sack to drive it with... it really is pretty fun stuff. Running out of gas is bad, if I remember correctly. Come with me sometime and listen to the race on the closed circuit headsets. During a 3 to 4 hour race, there is constant juggling and adjustment to the car. The driver gives input to the crew chief, who instructs the pit crew on what to do. They completely "re-do" cars in seconds. All I can say, is listening to the spotter on the top of the track tell the driver when it is "clear" to make a pass, and listening to the driver give input to the crew chief makes the sport analogous to being in the huddle, sidelines, and field for each play of a football game. I won't try to 'splain a blue sky to a blind man, but do understand, there is a WHOLE lot to nascrap racing. Yes, it is entertainment.

Lol... take the Richard Petty driving experience, put that bitch on the high oval, and tell me it ain't racing. Gosh, I feel the need to run some 'shine to the city all of sudden! I do agree that the Lords of Nascar have really pissed off the general racing populace, and the drivers were none to happy about the change. This is starting to change because, lo and behold, the clever little farts in the shops in North Carolina are figgerin' out ways to tweak those clone-like skins of cars. I dunno.... I am excited to see closed course racing with 3 or 4 dicing for the front. In time... the great riders and great teams will do just they are doing now.... pull away from the pack. Didn't Helio Castroneves just make the jump to NASCAR? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that makes 4 top flight open wheel drivers to come over to this boring, very unpopular, only for the mullet wearin masses, series of automotive competition. Now, if we are looking for real high end stuff, tons of horsepower, then lets all jump on the NHRA bandwagon and support Steve Mr Go-Fast Johnson.

Mark my words, you WILL see a combined weekend of NASCAR racing and Motorcycle racing.... Bikes in the morning, Cars in the afternoon..... and wanna know what else? Those Nascar fans, mullet wearin bunch that they are, will be hooked as soon as Neil goes over and pokes ole Matt right in the nose. Maybe thats the problem.... pierced guys that say "dude" don't wanna throw down. :) .02
